You’ll definitely notice it if you’ve been focusing on a book, a computer screen or that high definition TV you just bought for too long. “When you’re focused on these objects, that muscle is working extra hard, and when your prescription is wrong, it’s working even harder,” says Dr. Garg.
Every now and then, take 15 to 30 seconds to focus on something else in the distance to give your eyes a break, she says.
