The Best Foods to Stick When You’re Feeling Sick

Garlic

It is used for centuries as a medicinal herb and it has demonstrated its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. A single trial suggested that garlic may prevent occurrences of the common cold, but more studies are needed to validate this finding.

Ginger

It is probably best known for its anti-nausea effects, particularly during pregnancy and cancer treatment. This is in part because it acts similar to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). If you’re feeling nauseous or feel like throwing up, ginger is the best choice to make. Use fresh ginger in cooking, brew some ginger tea or pick up some ginger ale from the store to get these benefits.
