1. You opt for the fattiest steak on the menu

If you want to eat that delicious T-bone at your favorite restaurant, keep in mind that it’s probably one of the fattiest meats on the menu. So, in order to minimize the level of saturated fats you consume, the American Heart Association actually recommends opting for meat that has minimal visible fat.

Lean beef cuts include the round, chuck, sirloin or loin. Lean pork cuts include the tenderloin or loin chop. Lean lamb cuts come from the leg, arm, and loin. Also, before cooking, try to get rid of all visible fat and grill that meat rather than pan frying it.
