You don’t exercise enough

People who have a sedentary lifestyle are more likely to develop certain diseases, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancers. If you want to improve your overall health, you should exercise more (for at least thirty minutes every day), especially if your job involves sitting at your desk all day long.

According to Danielle Weis, a physical therapist and orthopedic clinical specialist, “when you don’t move or participate in any sort of exercise—even just a walking program—the body will progressively weaken.”

“The muscles and joints stop properly stabilizing the body and areas of stiffness and loss of mobility settle in. Oftentimes, these restrictions lead to pain, which further perpetuates the sedentary lifestyle. The great news is that almost all individuals can begin some form of exercise program, no matter how sedentary they are,” she continued.
