Sharing personal hygiene products with your spouse is kind of inevitable, but this doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Using someone else’s roll-on is like swapping germs from one armpit to another. It’s true, deodorants, are actually less risky when it comes to sharing because they usually have an alcohol base.
Why? Because the alcohol makes your skin acidic and less attractive to bacteria, according to Mayo Clinic. Antiperspirants are a whole different story since they typically have aluminum which exclusively blocks sweat pores, not bacteria.
So, if you’re using your friend’s roll-on antiperspirant, you could get germs, bacteria, fungi, and yeast. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll only get his or her skin cells and hair. Unless you have a spray in your hands, you should not use them!
