7 Things Your Sweat Is Telling About Your Health

You’re at risk for heatstroke

The inability to sweat normally also known as anhidrosis can be dangerous because it prevents your body from cooling off. So, if you don’t rehydrate, you risk heat illnesses like heatstroke or heat exhaustion. Also, if you are on a summer walk and you experience this, you should move to an air-conditioned space as soon as possible.

However, longer-lasting anhidrosis may be due to nerve damage, certain medications, or an inherited condition, which can increase risk for heat illnesses and heart problems, too, says David M. Pariser, MD, former president of the American Academy of Dermatology.
