Depending on our lifestyle, we all have different physical endurance and may get tired easier or harder. It’s perfectly normal to be short of breath after doing a sudden physical effort or doing sports for a long time without a break.

However, if you find it hard to catch your breath and you’re also wheezing or gasping, you should visit your doctor right away. This problem can be caused by a blood clot or pulmonary disease, both of which are very serious.

”Without urgent evaluation, breathing can quickly become labored, and it can be catastrophic if not evaluated and treated quickly,” says Dr. Shilpi Agarwal.
