This Is What You Need to Know About Hepatitis C

As you probably guessed, there are two types of hepatitis C: acute and chronic.

  1. The first one is a viral infection which develops in the initial weeks or even months after the HCV (hepatitis C virus) enters a person’s bloodstream.
  2. The second one begins as an acute hepatitis that starts within the first 6 months of exposure to the virus. For most people who get it – up to 85% – the virus moves into a long-lasting stage and this is why this health problem is called a chronic hepatitis C infection.
