Frontline workers will more than likely receive the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Doctors, nurses, and other health care personnel are at the top of the list considering their frequent contact with COVID-19 patients.
On December 1st, the CDC outlined the fact that this will include any people that serve in health care, either paid or unpaid, that have the “potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or infectious materials.”
Considering the fact that there have been 249,033 cases among health care personnel as of December 3rd, it makes sense that they should gain protection first. As many as 866 people in the industry have passed away due to the coronavirus, so it is important that they remain safe while treating patients.
