Let’s be honest… We’ve all been guilty at least once in our lives for pointing our fingers at a person who has had a skin disorder such as psoriasis. Some of us might have thought that it’s even something contagious, when, in reality, it’s far from being that.
Just because it looks unpleasant, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is contagious. If you’re not a doctor or a nurse, you most likely won’t be able to tell which health conditions are contagious or not. And while some are pretty obvious such as hepatitis or chickenpox, there are several diseases out there that shouldn’t be placed in the same sentence with the word ‘contagious.’
As an infectious disease physician at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security said, there’s virtually no connection between an infection’s actual cause and its contagiousness.
