Fatigue is actually a symptom that’s often associated with type 2 diabetes. Even if it’s normal to be exhausted every now and then after some physical activity, it’s not normal to feel constantly tired.

Ongoing fatigue is an extremely important symptom to pay attention to, because it might mean the food you’re eating for energy isn’t being broken down and used by cells as it’s supposed to. “If you’re not getting the fuel your body needs, you’re going to be tired and sluggish,” says Dobbins.
