Having low thyroid levels can also affect your digestive health, leaving significant marks on your colon. A recent study suggests that this common issue affects approximately 17 percent of people with hypothyroidism.

The same study also mentioned that constipation could worsen if hypothyroidism is left untreated.

However, many people experience constipation from time to time, and, in most cases, it isn’t a sign of hypothyroidism. Better safe than sorry, though, especially if you’re also experiencing stomach pain.
