Shakes and smoothies are great breakfast options. They are easy to make and quite nutritious if you choose the right ones. Most shakes and smoothies pack many vitamins and minerals, but, unfortunately, way too little of the much-needed protein.

That’s why you should take a closer look at the protein powders available on the market. There are several types of protein powder like egg, whey, pea, and soy, and it can be tricky to select the best for you and your needs.

For example, whey protein powder seems to be the best when it comes to boosting your protein intake. Just one scoop of whey powder has approximately 20 grams of protein. Do your research before buying any protein powder, as some brands are better than others.

Once you made up your mind about a whey protein powder product, you can increase its protein content by adding almond butter, chia seeds, or peanut butter to your shake.
