Scientists say that taking a little break from time to time helps your brain to function properly, increasing the level of productivity and creativity at work. When you have to complete certain tasks that require concentration, the prefrontal cortex keeps you focused and you need frequent breaks to help it relax, otherwise, you will experience some headaches.
It has been proven that breaks can prevent severe fatigue and exhaustion, keeping you motivated at the same time. People who take frequent breaks at work are less likely to develop stress, anxiety and depression.
“Take several breaks at work: Go to the restroom and open the faucet with cold water, keep your hands underwater for a few seconds, and splash some of that water on your face. You will feel refreshed and energized,” explained Milana Perepyolkina, an international best-selling author.
