9. Sneddon-Wilkinson disease
Sneddon-Wilkinson disease, also known as subcorneal pustular dermatosis manifests on the skin as clusters. We don’t know what triggers Sneddon-Wilkinson disease, but what we do know is that, in general, it affects middle-aged people, particularly women. Unfortunately, this skin disease is often misdiagnosed.
Just like other rare skin conditions we’ve listed here, Sneddon-Wilkinson disease bumps also appear in the areas where skin rubs together. The resulted lesions usually show up in the genital area.
People who deal with Sneddon-Wilkinson disease may have a strange sensation of itching. However, unlike others, Sneddon-Wilkinson disease is not fatal; antibiotics can treat it.
10. Inverse lichen planus pigmentosus
Another inflammatory condition, but this time one that causes discoloration and leads to itchy bumps is inverse lichen planus pigmentosus. Asian people are most likely to develop this skin condition and there are only twenty cases in the entire world right now.
We don’t know what triggers it, but those who have it will most definitely spot flat lesions of discolored skin. However, it is not a lethal condition. In fact, it can be easily treated with a topical cream.
Doctors also use corticosteroids as treatment, as it may help with pigmentation.
