2. You have what’s called a brain fog

If you’re having trouble with concentration lately and you’re feeling more overwhelmed than usual, brain fog might be the reason you’re unable to stay focused. It’s been proven that stress from the loss of a job, a breakup or divorce, the death of a loved one, or other traumatic events can affect your cognitive function and memory.

A 2019 study published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry shows that traumatic or really stressful life events may lead to a decline in cognitive function and memory. Talk to your doctor to figure out what the root cause is—he or she may recommend you see a psychologist.
