3. Limit alcohol and caffeine intake
It’s completely fine to drink a glass of wine from time to time as well as enjoying your cup of Joe every single day; however, remember about moderation. According to Laura Ryan, MD, an endocrinologist at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, the amount of alcohol that maximizes bone fragility is about three servings per day.
So, say bye-bye to the fourth glass of wine if you want to reduce your chances of developing osteoporosis. Now that everything is clear when it comes to alcohol… what about caffeine? Why is it so bad for your bone health?
Too much caffeine can limit calcium absorption in your body, and this can eventually lead to bone loss. So, it’s best to drink no more than three cups of coffee per day.
P.S.: Remember that sodas contain caffeine too and… by the way, here’s how much coffee is way too much.
