Instacart
The Instacart app serves as a service for 25,000 grocery stores—half of America’s markets, according to the company. However, Instacart announced that “based on the current surge in demand, customers can expect to see delivery availability vary across stores during the busiest request windows.”
Instacart also added that “delivery windows are specific to individual store volume and shopper availability. As availability opens up for an individual store, customers will see these delivery windows become available on the Instacart marketplace.”
Walmart Online Grocery Delivery
The retailer says its online grocery delivery service is still available in 200 metro areas in the United States and last fall the retailer expanded Delivery Unlimited, a membership that costs $12.95 a month or $98 per year and includes unlimited grocery delivery orders (usually with a $30 minimum order).
However, if you don’t want a membership you can also opt for an individual delivery, which is typically $9.95 at every order.
Important: Coronavirus guidelines say that people should maintain social distancing and stay home as much as possible. You should also understand that it is quite difficult to successfully order groceries and get them delivered at the moment. Overall, if you are trying your best to order your groceries online anytime soon, you should expect to see warnings like the one posted by Target: “Due to high demand, items may be unavailable or delayed.”
