Here’s What I’m Trying to Tell You—Signed, Your Gut

2. ‘Are those processed foods?!?’

If you want to enjoy a healthy gut, processed foods are a definitive no-no. Why? Eating them on a regular basis can lead to inflammation in the lining of your GI tract (the place where foods are absorbed).

Your gut is not a food detector! It is not able to tell what you’ve eaten. However, it does see the presence of certain foods such as artificial ingredients and high-fructose corn syrup like ‘an alien invasion.’

As soon as it ‘smells’ the presence of these foods, inflammation installs itself in the body, trying to fight off these foods, just like it does with an infection.

Instead of filling your gut with processed foods, you should give it more whole fruits and veggies.
