We all know that certain activities have the ability to boost our mood. But did you know that foods can affect it too? So does sugar. Consuming large amounts of added sugar can increase your risk of depression. As sad as it sounds, your birthday cake can bring about mood swings.
A 22-year-old study in over 8,000 participants found that men who consumed more than 67 grams of the white stuff per day were actually 23 percent more prone to develop depression than those who ate no more than 40 grams per day.
