Chapter no. 2: The white blood cells are used to fight infection in different ways

As the CDC noted, different kinds of white blood cells battle against infection in different ways. Here are the types and how each one fights:

Macrophages are those white blood cells of your immune system that ingest and destroy bacteria. After fighting off foreign particles, they leave behind some parts of them, which doctors call antigens. Then, your body sees antigens as harmful things, and, as a result, it stimulates antibodies to assault them.

B-lymphocytes, known as B cells, are also a type of white blood cells, but the difference is that they are defensive. B cells produce the antibodies that fight what macrophages leave behind.

T-lymphocytes, or T cells, are another type of defensive white blood cells that attack those cells that have been infected. They are basically the kings and queens in the game of chess.
