Chapter no. 3: Your immune system has a clue of what happened when fighting the infection
The CDC explained that when an individual gets infected with COVID-19 for the first time, it can take some days or even a couple of weeks for his/her body to activate all the germ-combating tools needed to fight the infection. After the infection, the individual’s immune system will most likely remember what it learned when fighting the disease.
But how is it possible?
His/her body keeps a number of T-lymphocytes, called memory cells, that will instantly go into battle when the body detects the virus again. However, health professionals are still trying to figure out how long this type of memory cell protects someone against the coronavirus.
