Depression
People who live in Nordic countries are more likely to commit suicide, and this is mainly because they don’t see the sun as often as we do, this is known as S.A.D. or seasonal affective disorder. We are all happier during the summer because we can absorb enough vitamin D. On the other hand, low-light winter days tend to make us moody.
All doctors agree that getting enough vitamin D can minimize the risk of developing depression. In fact, there are several studies regarding this. The most recent one suggested that those who have low concentrations of this vitamin are more likely to be depressed.
