How Touching Your Face Is Helping Spread Coronavirus

Much like face masks, people believe that wearing gloves offers them another protective barrier, unfortunately, gloves are just as likely to pick up the virus and people are likely to still touch their chins and the areas around the mouth, nose and eyes.

Instead, the World Health Organization recommends:

1. Washing your hands regularly for 20 seconds, with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub.

2. Maintaining your distance from others (1 meter or 3 feet) and avoiding physical contact such as shaking hands.

3. Cover your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or flexed elbow when you cough or sneeze.

4. Stay home and self-isolate from others in the household if you feel unwell.

For more comprehensive advice on what to do, click here to visit the World Health Organization’s official website.
