8 Body Parts You’re Cleaning Too Often

Colon

There was a trend a few years ago, that I found very ridiculous. Some sort of influencers and celebrities were advocating for “cleaning your colon”, by selling all sorts of teas, digestive pills, and even laxatives. But despite their nonsensical belief, colon cleanses aren’t that healthy, nor that necessary.

In fact, they may come with some serious health risks. According to Dr. Okeke-Igbokwe, “the digestive tract is already on its way to removing waste from your system”. The one time you might actually need such a cleanse is when you’re prepping yourself for a colonoscopy. If you’re worried about your gastrointestinal health, the best thing to do is talk to a doctor.
