11. Put your fork/spoon down between bites

Studies suggest that putting your spoon or fork down between bites gives our brains enough time to process our food intakes. On top of that, doing so will most likely make you eat less since it basically forces you to eat slower.

It takes approximately 20 minutes for your stomach to inform your brain that it’s time to put that plate in the dishwasher, so it would be an excellent idea to stretch your favorite meals out for at least 20 minutes. Plus, you’ll offer your taste buds the opportunity to actually enjoy what’s in your mouth.
