Simple Ways to Boost Your Morning Coffee

Sprinkle cinnamon for heart health

This combo gives you a healthy dose of antioxidants because cinnamon is full of protective compounds and has one of the highest antioxidant activity among spices. This cool spice may add protection to your brain and heart and may also boost your immune system.

Serve: Stir 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon into your cup of coffee, or brew your coffee with 1 tsp. of cinnamon mixed right into the grounds.

Ginger up your coffee for muscle pain

Boost your morning cup of coffee with some ginger—it has a ton of health benefits you should take advantage of. Ginger contains potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds which can reduce muscle pain, lower cholesterol and aid in digestion.

Serve: Add ginger directly to your coffee (up to 1 tsp. per cup), or ditch the calorie—and sugar—laden coffee shop version and make a healthy pumpkin spice latte at home.
