Set an automatic reply with “DND” when you are working
When you have a busy day and you need to complete a lot of tasks just try to set an automatic reply with “Do Not Disturb” or “I can’t talk right now but I will call you later or after work. Thanks” or something like that.
If you do this, you will see that you will be more productive and complete your tasks faster when you focus on what you have to do rather than being distracted by your phone.
In fact, “people aren’t going to think you’re ignoring them or you’re being unproductive,” says James A. Roberts, PhD, professor of marketing at Baylor University and author of Too Much of a Good Thing: Are You Addicted to Your Smartphone?.
Try “social media fasting”
In order to reduce the time you spend on your phone, many specialists recommend choosing a few hours a day in which not to use your phone at all, especially in the morning and in the evening. Don’t worry, “people just don’t need to hear back from you at 10, 12, 2 in the morning,” says Roberts.
This is the best solution if you want to sleep better and get more quality sleep. The best idea is not to use your phone at least an hour before going to bed, and you can turn off the internet connection so that no one bothers you while you sleep. Plus the ‘blue light’ that your phone emits can cause you to have trouble sleeping as studies have shown.
