7 Common Atrial Fibrillation Dangers You Should Avoid

Atrial fibrillation a.k.a. afib is a heart condition that affects more than 2.7 million people in the United States. It is the most common type of irregular heartbeat and its symptoms can include:

  • A rapid pulse and heartbeat
  • Palpitations
  • Shortness of breath
  • Dizziness
  • Feeling very tired

Also, it’s possible to have this condition and not recognize any symptoms. “For every episode of atrial fibrillation that is recognized, there is probably one episode that is not recognized,” explains David Wilber, MD, professor and director of the division of cardiology at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois.

“Atrial fibrillation symptoms, like fatigue or feeling lightheaded, can be subtle. People who have had intermittent episodes of atrial fibrillation for a while may not be aware that they’re having an episode.” So, you need to know what a danger to your health could be. Here’s a list of atrial fibrillation dangers to avoid.
