8 Ways to Avoid Nightmares and Get More Restful Sleep

You can opt for a regular sleep schedule

If you want to sleep better and get rid of nightmares, you should create a sleeping plan and maintain it for one week. Remember that it is very important to follow this rule even on weekends.

“Sleep deprivation and insomnia have been associated with increased risk of nightmares, so stick to a regular sleeping pattern as much as possible,” says Dr. Dasgupta.

The main rule is to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day, and of course, your purpose is to sleep at least eight hours each night. You should transform this plan into an everyday routine and a healthy habit that could improve the quality of your sleep and overall health.

Another great idea that could help you stick to that plan is to put away your phone, TV, computer, or tablet thirty minutes before going to bed. However, maybe reading a book could also work.

If you choose to get up and go to sleep at the same every day, you will experience some unexpected benefits, such as fewer episodes of insomnia and irritability, no more nightmares, a brighter mood, better immune system functions and less pain. Moreover, don’t hit the snooze button when you hear your alarm in the morning, just get up and prepare yourself for that day.
