Major Symptoms of Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency

What are the symptoms?

Because exocrine pancreatic insufficiency makes it harder for your body to break down food, you’ll have symptoms overlap with other digestive conditions. Symptoms include:

  • bloating
  • flatulence
  • diarrhea
  • abdominal pain

Similar symptoms can appear from celiac disease, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome and ulcerative colitis. Unfortunately, there’s no definitive symptom of EPI, that’s why it’s hard to detect in its early stages.
