5 Simple Ways to Have a Better Sleep

Some of us have sleeping problems, maybe because we are stressed, and we just can’t clear our minds when we are trying to sleep. We have so many negative thoughts and it seems that all of these thoughts come at night to say, “Sleep well now!” Those nights are terrible and whatever we are trying to do we just can’t fall asleep and this makes our insomnia worse. If you have sleeping problems, here are some simple hacks that will help you to get rid of your insomnia.

Tech devices

One of your sleeping problems come from your tech devices. Jeffrey Rossman, PhD says, “Doing too many stimulating things too close to bedtime. Our electronics can really cut into our sleep because they wire our brain, they’re too intellectually stimulating, and the blue light that’s emitted from our screens suppresses the release of melatonin, which is our body’s sleepiness hormone.”

Biological clock

Try to get your body on a schedule, says Jeffrey Rossman. This will help you to fall asleep at the same time every night, because your biological clock will tell your body that it’s time for sleeping.

Sun light

“Make sure light comes in through your eyes—it helps to set our body’s natural clock, so that you’re sleepy at bedtime.” So, open your windows and embrace the sun light.

Relaxing activities

If you can’t fall asleep and you are just lying awake, try to do some relaxing activities. “Go into another room, read something that’s relaxing with a low light on, listen to relaxing music, have a cup of hot tea, do something that’s quite passive until you do feel sleepy, and then go back into your bedroom.”

Speak with a professional

If you have tried these tricks and none of these worked, you must consult a professional. Maybe your insomnia it’s caused by something else. A professional will discover the problem and will give you a specific treatment.
