9 Meds You Should NEVER Stop Taking Abruptly

Eye drops for glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye disease that is caused by fluid buildup in the front portion of your eye, which can damage the eye’s optic nerve needed for sight. According to the National Eye Institute, the number of people in the U.S. with glaucoma will more than double by 2050 to 6.3 million people. ‘Eye drops help decrease the pressure in the eyes,’ says Grossman.

‘But some people get tired of putting drops in their eyes and the eye pressure will go back to the way it was.’ If the pressure from the fluid buildup continues, it can further damage the eye’s optic nerve and potentially lead to blindness in the future.
