1. Pneumonia

Pneumonia is a lung infection that’s responsible for inflaming the air sacs of your lungs. It can occur on one lung or on both of them; however, to determine if this lung infection is contagious or not, you must know what caused it in the first place.

First of all, there are actually two types of pneumonia that aren’t contagious (fungal and aspiration pneumonia). Both of them may happen when liquid or food is inhaled into someone’s lungs.

On the other hand, two types of pneumonia are indeed contagious (viral and bacterial pneumonia). So, it’s important to know the cause of the infection in order to avoid slips of the tongue.
