5. Your bathroom sink
Mold in your home is not only gross, but fatal in some cases. It could trigger alarming symptoms in people who have allergies or asthma. As you already know, mold appears in areas with excessive moisture such as bathroom sink, walls, and carpet that have been exposed to flooding, Dr. Friedman-Jimenez says.
“We recommend to number one, find and fix the source of moisture, and number two, identify areas where mold has contaminated,” he says. In some cases, if you want to keep mold from coming back, you might have to rebuilt the entire wall, which could translate to major repairs and a big chunk of money, he says. However, your health comes first.
