Excessive or spontaneous bruising
While all of us spot a bruise or two from time to time on the skin, in most cases, they have a clear root cause, like a small accident. But when it comes to leukemia patients, their bruises don’t have a clear explanation.
According to the chief of medical oncology at the Eastern Regional Medical Center in Philadelphia and a member of the medical oncology department at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Pamela Crilley, DO, most leukemia patients often spot unexplained bruises.
In most cases, leukemia-related bruises seem to appear on the extremities, namely arms and legs.
