3. You can’t release yourself from the ugly past
Even if there are many psychologists who don’t like to associate post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with anxiety disorders, dealing with a negative experience from your past can put a lot of pressure on your anxiety levels.
“Even if it’s not to the level [of PTSD], people can also develop new worries after a traumatic life event,” says Keenan-Miller. “Some people, if they have a car accident, will become quite worried about driving.” So, if it seems impossible for you to release yourself from the ugly past, contact a psychologist—he or she will help you get through whatever is worrying you.
Maybe you had a bad fight with a loved one or maybe you’re trying to deal with the death of a close friend or relative. No matter what you’re experiencing right now, don’t let go of past if you haven’t come to terms with him.
