Dengue Fever
Sadly, the bite of a mosquito infected with Dengue is the leading cause of illness and death in the tropics — nearly 400 million people are infected each year, and it’s been a worldwide concern since the 1950s. When you contract the dengue virus, you’ll have a severe fever that lasts between two and seven days.
When you start to return to your normal temperature, you have between 24 and 48 hours to get help before circulatory system failure, shock, and death.
