Hair loss – iron deficiency

As we learned from Mayo Clinic, ferritin is a blood cell protein that contains iron. That’s why optimal levels are needed to maximize your hair’s “anagen” or “growing” phase. When your body doesn’t have enough of the stuff, you can suffer from iron deficiency, or anemic, which can cause tiredness, weakness, and hair loss.

So, if you’re seeing more hair on your brush than usual, try eating more iron-rich foods, such as spinach and grass-fed beef. Apart from hair loss, low ferritin levels can be seen in other symptoms like dizziness, extreme fatigue, brittle nails, shortness of breath, headaches, and difficulty concentrating.
