7. Difficulty remembering things

It seems impossible for you to remember important things and events? Maybe it’s not an early sign of Alzheimer’s, but a sign of hypothyroidism. In fact, many patients experience fogginess and trouble concentrating on certain tasks.

For instance, in a recent study, about 22 percent of patients with hypothyroidism reported difficulty doing simple math problems, approximately 36 percent reported fogginess, and about 39 percent reported having difficulty remembering important things such as birth dates and Social Security numbers.

Unfortunately, more research is needed to understand the connection between the thyroid gland and mental health issues.
