10 Things You Should NEVER Share With ANYONE

6. Towels

Towels say ‘come in’ to bacteria since they are generally damp and absorbent, which is mainly why you shouldn’t share them, according to Dr. Arthur. Some bacteria can survive for hours on wet surfaces, and fungus actually loves damp towels, Dr. Blank adds.

Your hand towels are like a germ magnet too since most people usually wash their hands incorrectly, Dr. Blank says, leaving bacteria on the skin. That bacteria transfers to the hand towel and ultimately the next person who dries their hands using that germy towel.

Try to stop this unhealthy cycle in its tracks, especially if you have guests over, and opt for paper hand towels as they are more sanitary, Dr. Arthur says. No one wants to use your damp, used towels, so paper ones can be a healthier germ free option.
