These types of drinks contain many artificial colors and sweeteners that can’t be qualified as food. Plus, with sports drinks becoming so popular, concerns have been raised on the possible impacts on health and weight. Results are showing how sports drink on their own have been associated with weight gain in teens.
Also, another concern was raised: does the frequent use of sports drinks has anything to do with tooth decay? The American Association of Pediatrics recommends drinking fewer sports drinks, and more water. If you had a long night and you’re hungover now, or you had a really sweaty fitness session, drink water or unflavored coconut water.
