Fluorescent lights
You’ll need to be careful indoors, too—and not just because windows don’t fully block UV rays. Believe it or not, fluorescent and halogen bulbs can also emit ultraviolet rays and cause systemic flares.
The Lupus Foundation of America recommends opting for bulbs with the lowest UV intensity, as well as investing in bulb filters or shields (like a standard acrylic plastic diffuser) with a nanometer reading of 380 to 400. LED lights may also be a good option: Although more research needs to be done on these lights, some people report that they have fewer flares around them.
