3. Psoriasis
Did you know that psoriasis affects more than 2 percent of Americans? Well… here’s another surprising fact: it is not contagious! If you’re a doctor and you’re also reading this, you may think that’s silly, but, yes, some people think that this autoimmune condition is contagious.
To make things clear, psoriasis is a health condition in which a person’s immune system attacks his/her outer layer. Therefore, psoriasis is NOT a contagious disease. It can’t be passed from person to person.
Next time you spot itchy patches of skin that are also red and topped by some sort of white scales on someone’s knees, scalp, or elbows, please, do not assume it is contagious.
